The Prado, Reina Sofía and Thyssen Museums, among others, open their doors for free this day

To celebrate next Friday, October 12, the Day of the National Holiday of Spain, the Ministry of Culture and Sports proposes that citizens and tourists enjoy Culture and makes it easy.

The 16 museums managed by the Ministry, the Museo Nacional del Prado, the Museo Reina Sofía and the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza will have free access.

Exceptionally, the National Library of Spain will open to the public (from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) the General Reading Room, a space whose access is usually reserved for researchers.

In addition, you can visit the Museum of the BNE and the exhibitions'Blessed, Barnacles and Mechachis! Thousands of years of comics at the National Library' Y 'Chess. Silence art. Eight centuries of culture’.

And the General Archives of the Indies -Located in Seville- and Simancas (Valladolid) will open to the public to give access to their current exhibitions: ‘Murillo’ ’in the General Archive of the Indies of Seville’ and ‘Four Centuries of Spanish Engineering in Overseas’, in the General Archive of the Indies; and 'Spies, Secret Services and encrypted writing in the Hispanic Monarchy', in the General Archive of Simancas.
